Hi and thanks for visiting my site. I started out djing in 1977 at the age of 15 when I helped a couple of friends build-up their first disco. A couple of record decks and some coloured light bulbs from Woolworth’s (Do you remember them !) and the name (cast iron arm). This soon took off to the point we had bookings every week.
With more and more work, we decided to change the name to Horizon discos. We spent money at the time on top of the range equipment (Sound out and Custom sound). The name soon got round and we were doing weddings for some of the top hotels around Redhill and Dorking and travelling as far as Sunderland University.
Horizon discos disbanded in 1984 when we went our separate ways. I did various resident spots around Dorking Redhill and Purley (Busbys,cinderellas and the Watermill) to name a few.
Getting bored with being in one place I hit the road in 1986. With a friend we formed (Wildfire discos) this was very successful with lots of midweek repeat bookings and weddings. At the same time we were on the road crew for funk a duck (Europe’s largest mobile disco) touring the south of England. And working with some of the top radio djs of the time.
In 1990 I decided to hang-up my headphones and concentrate on family life and the day job. Ten years on and after meeting a couple in a restaurant that I did a wedding for in 1987 they asked if i would do their millennium party of which I agreed. So of to my local dj shop hiring some equipment the party was a big success and I got the bug to start over again.
2000 saw the start of Nightsounds discos with today’s technology I have some of the best equipment money can buy. Now offering video discos, karaoke and a wealth of experience for your event.
For all you younger people out there don’t be put of by my age I can still fill a dance floor whether it be a 13th birthday party or 18th and for the older generation 40 plus im in heaven 60s/70s/80s.
